A typical window or door installation is shown in the sketch below. First the FlexWrap flashing is applied to the sill. Then the window is fitted to the opening, shimmed to be plumb and level, and nailed to the outside wall with caulk between the house wrap and fold-out nailing strip. A steel flashing strip is applied to the top of the window and flashing tape is “lapped” around the window creating a virtually seamless protective envelope against the elements.
