Andy and his crew (David, & Kevin) were putting the finishing touches on the two modular block walls at noon today. They have a little more fill to install behind the upper wall and will then start working with the boulders on the the West side of the patio. Deb and I met with Brett at noon to look at paver stone colors and talk about the semi-circular wall in the patio area. We decided to let Andy try to terminate the wall into boulders at each end in an effort to further tie the the two elements together. The first two photos show the walls from both ends. The grade above the upper wall seems to work nicely and should direct any water out and away from the house. The semi-circular end of the upper wall might make a nice spot for one of the quaking aspens.
The panoramic photo shows both walls and the patio below. Here you can see how the grade above the upper wall falls away from the back wall of the kitchen. It is going to be really fun to watch as the JLM crew starts to bring the boulders into play with the modular block walls.
