Electrical…Day 16

Curt and Luke (Wire-Rite) were both out at the “L” Shaped House this morning working to install electrical devices. The first photo below shows the double oven in the kitchen wall just after they finished the wiring and mounted it into the cabinetry. The second photo shows one of the Barn Light Electric gooseneck lighting fixtures in place on the wall above the garage door. I can’t wait to get a photo of these fixtures after dark!

I took the third photo as Paul Winters, Luke, and I worked out where to place the lights in the kitchen ceiling. The strips of blue tape on the island and countertop mark the position of the pendants in the ceiling. We decided to place the pendants above the island in an arc centered 16 inches from the outside edge. The pendants above the kitchen sink will be placed in the middle of the countertop (front to back) centered on the window panes  above the blue tape strips. The idea is to be able to see all five lights in a row from the bay window on the front wall of the dining room.

The video shows Luke as he cuts a hole for an electrical outlet under the Cambria top on one end of the island using a router. This is one of those operations that is best viewed by mature audiences only!
