Steve Carmichael and his crew have been working on some of the finishing details on the first floor of the “L” Shaped House. The first photo shows the latest sample of glazing on the back side of one of the larger kitchen cabinet doors as Steve continues to experiment with the “distressing” of the cabinetry. This door was finished using a lighter glaze a little more wiping. Both Deb and I stopped by to see the sample in person and approved. Steve and his guys are going to go right after distressing the mudroom cabinets next.
The last two photos show the front door and side light panels with the first coat of Sikkens exterior varnish on the exterior surfaces. All of the exterior doors will be finished with their mahogany colored stain. I think the combination of the red doors, white trim, and cloak grey siding is going to be very nice.
