Painting…Day 56 (evening report)

Steve Carmichael and Pete carried their cabinet “distressing” project into the first floor laundry this afternoon. The first photo shows the cabinets above the washer and dryer on the South wall of the laundry room after they finished applying the glazing. The distressed finish makes the whole room seem a little darker…I’m glad we lightened up the color of the glazing a little before starting.

The next photo shows outside wall of the laundry from the just inside the kitchen. Here we get a good sense of the color on the cabinets set off against the tile, window trim, and subway tile backsplash.

The last two photos show closer shots of the distressed cabinets on each end of the outside wall. In the first we see the laundry room closet on the left and the lower corner cabinet under the counter. The last photo shows the open section under the countertop running into the corner where the washer and dryer will sit. I think the distressed finish looks particularly nice with both the 12” floor tile and the subway tile backsplash.
