Framing…Day 11

Details…details…The Tappe crew concentrated on the details of The “L” Shaped House framing today. Starting in the garage the photos below show the stairway into the mudroom and the framing surrounding the garage doors. We are departing from the plans with the stairs. They will now run toward the back of the garage and we are eliminating the ramp…more about this later.

Almost all of the doorways on the first floor are now framed. The photos below show one of the doors leading into the music room and the archways in the dining room and kitchen. The short wall sections connecting the arches are a part of these details.

Speaking of arches…the next photo shows all four archways on the first floor (if you look really close). It is amazing how even in this crude form the arches make the space feel different…I’m really liking how it feels.

The framing of the interior walls on the second floor is also under way. The first photo here shows the kids bathroom and upstairs laundry framing. The last photo gives us a taste of what is coming next. The Tappe crew is busy preparing roof trusses to be hoisted into place. The back yard of The “L” Shaped House is positively littered with bits and pieces of the roof. It is going to be very interesting to watch as this last element of the house is assembled.
