Landscaping…Day 17

Jay and his landscaping crew went to work this morning at the “L” Shaped House. It’s a relief to have some dry weather and feels really good to have the landscaping and driveway underway. The panoramic photo below shows the East side of the house after Jay made the first few passes with his Bobcat. He plans to set the grade starting from the back end of the garage working toward the front today and start laying in the class 5 rock base tomorrow.

I snapped this shot of the landscaping plan as I was leaving around noon. In it we can see the tools of the trade…rocks to keep the plans from blowing away…a measuring tape…and a can of white spray paint!

The rest of Jay’s crew is working on the paver patio and dog run outside the back breezeway deck. They have the area laid out with lines and are busy preparing to install the rock base. The first photo shows the breezeway deck from the window in the master bath as the the work gets underway.

The next two photos show the patio area from the ground level. In the first the drain tile that will serve as a drain for the dog run is seen running across the front of the dog run. The second shows the area in front of the deck and along the outside wall of the house. The small PVC pipe exiting the wall is the drain for the basement sump pump.
