Painting…Day 45

Rick and Jordan spent the day painting walls on the first floor of the “L” Shaped House. They have at least one coat of paint on all the walls and are starting to circle back applying the second coat. The first photo shows the back wall of the kitchen from the middle of the dining room. Here we can see the natural wicker wall color behind the white cabinetry.

The next photo shows the foyer, dining room, and kitchen with the living room fireplace in the background. The variations in lighting make the sherwood tan wall color appear almost brown in some areas to nearly grey in others. These shots also show off Mike Kloti’s layering concept very nicely.

The next photo shows the living room fireplace wall with the first coat of sherwood tan paint on the walls. The sunlight on the right and shadows on the left give the wall paint the same variations we saw in the photo above. This shot also shows the coconut grove wall color in the music room. We pick up the fireplace mantel from Mendota Mantels Monday afternoon and Paul plans to install it right away…I can’t wait!

The panoramic photo below shows the music room from the back corner of the room. The coconut grove paint color on the walls gives the room a very nice warm feeling. Our upright piano will sit against the wall under a 42” television. Closing the doors will transform the music room into an “away” room where piano practice, TV watching, or conversation can take place in private.

The Carmichael guys continue to work in the basement and garage as well. The last two photos show the staircase to the bonus room with the half–wall caps and handrails stained as well as the stained & varnished exterior doors.
