Rick, James, and Jordan are busy putting the finishing touches on the walls in the basement and have un-wrapped the masking throughout the rest of the house. They plan to have all of the painting on the first and second floors plus the basement complete by the time they go home late this afternoon. They will be back to finish up the bonus room and garage as well as any touch-up work required after all the plumbing, electrical, and HVAC is installed over the next couple of weeks. The first photo shows the East end of the basement family room as the second coat of wall paint is being applied.
The next photo shows the staircase leading to the first floor from the basement. The Carmichael guys have both coats of paint on the walls of the stairwell and will probably un-mask the stair treads later today. The third photo shows the doorway into the basement bathroom. Here we see the enameled trim, hallway paint, and the interior of the bath.
The last four photos show the kitchen and first floor laundry room after the masking has been removed from the cork floor, countertops, and ceramic tiles. First; two views of the desk area and cabinets along the back wall of the kitchen. In the second you can see two sample cabinet doors with the glazing used to produce the distressed finish applied. Steve Carmichael plans to distress the cabinets after Matt Sletten has the tile backsplash (seen between the doors) in place.
The next photo shows the view of the far wall of the kitchen from the first floor laundry room. This is pretty much my favorite view of the kitchen as it shows off the wide plank cork floors, Cambria countertops, and white cabinetry under the nice archway leading into the kitchen. The last photo shows the end wall of the laundry room and closet with the laminate countertop extending under the cabinets.
