Rick and the Carmichael Decorating crew spent the day finishing the wall painting on the first floor and spraying enamel in the basement. The first photo shows the back corner of the living room with the sherwood tan walls and the window seat masking removed for the first time. The rich tones show very nicely in the late afternoon with the recessed can lights shining on the walls and cabinets.
The next photo shows the living room, staircase, and foyer from the front corner of the living room after Rich and his guys finished putting the second coat of paint on the walls. The maple cabinetry in the living room looks great up against the Sherwood tan walls. Just imagine what this will look like as they uncover the dark stained stair treads and cork floor.
Moving on to the basement seems just a little boring after the soaking up the wonderfully rich colors on the first floor. The next two photos show the door trim and baseboard in the basement after Rick sprayed the white enamel late this afternoon. The basement was once again (maybe the last time) thick with paint fumes.
The last two photos show the stairs leading to the first floor from the basement after the trim was painted. We plan to have wall-to-wall carpeting from the door at the top of the stairs down to the fifth tread from the bottom where we will leave just the exposed ends bare. The dark stained exposed treads, white enamel balusters, and carpeting is going to give the basement stairs a very classy look.
